IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas men's soccer team (10-7-2, 6-6-2) finished the regular season in a 1-1 tie versus Austin College (1-13-5, 1-10-3) on Saturday. Prior to the match nine players were recognized for "senior day," as they suited up one final time in front of the home crowd.

Both squads scored midway through the first half, and after that neither could complete a finish in the back of the net.

Austin got on the board first in the 24:07 minute mark, as Roberto Varela tallied an unassisted netter to lift the road team momentarily.

In the 33rd minute, senior midfielder Matthew Wise (Portland, Ore.) completed a successful penalty kick to knot the affair heading towards halftime.

The opening frame provided a lot of shot attempts from each side, as AC posted a 12-8 edge. The second half was much more of a defensive struggle, and the Crusaders would end its home slate in extra regulation.

First overtime witnessed three shots combined by both teams, and despite 10 efforts in the final overtime; Dallas never got the result and the match ended in a stalemate. The large output at the end did lift the navy and white to a 24-18 shot difference on the afternoon.

Wise matched a game-high six shots, and placed two of the team's total seven shots on goal. Sophomore forward Barton Holdridge (Fort Worth, Texas) was right behind at five attempts, and junior forward Jon Miskin (Little Rock, Ark.) added four.

Rounding out the unit with multiple shots on the contest was senior midfielder Nathan Nwaeze (Mansfield, Texas).

Sophomore goalkeepers Tino Gamueda (Lubbock, Texas) and P.J. Hasson (Fairfax, Va.) split time in the net each picking up three saves apiece. Gamueda drew the start and worked 56:34 minutes, while Hasson contributed 53:26 inside the net.
