UD Men's Lacrosse opens 2021 season at Centenary College on Sunday
SHREVEPORT, La. – The University of Dallas men's lacrosse team is set to open the 2021 season on Sunday at Centenary College. This matchup will feature a pair of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) teams seeking their first wins of the campaign.
Dallas had two matches in February cancelled that were set to be at the friendly confines. The lidlifter on Sunday is set for 1 p.m. Livestats and video are available.
The Crusaders will spend March on the road. The next three weeks after Centenary will be at Hendrix College (Mar. 13), Huntingdon College (Mar. 19), and at Colorado College (Mar. 28).
In April, Dallas hosts Piedmont College on the 11th and then play two SCAC foes with a road match at Southwestern University (Apr. 18) and home match versus Centenary College (Apr. 24). There is still a proposed date being worked on for a home contest with Southwestern.
The conference tournament is projected to be held at Colorado College on April 30 and May 2.
Austin Gibbons (St. Charles, Ill.) headlines the returners with 31 career goals. He tied first on UD with 16 shots last season and had seven goals and two assists. Two other returners that have some experience based on playing time are Tommy Chadwick (Tampa, Fla.) and Dan McCrorey (Reno, Nev.).
Sam Dixon (Hurst, Texas), John Reynolds (Fallbrook, Calif.), Michael White (Colleyville, Texas), and Ethan Mercer (Overland Park, Kan.) form a quartet of Crusaders that played last season but only for a couple of games in the shortened season.
Paul Safranek, Matt Senter, Patrick O'/Connell, John Ambuul, Andrew Le (San Antonio, Texas), and Preston Thompson are newcomers on the team.
