Crusaders fall to Hendrix on Saturday

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas men's lacrosse team was defeated 21-0 on Saturday afternoon. Hendrix (3-2) was in control throughout this one, holding major advantages in most categories. The Warriors won 20 faceoffs in 25 chances, were 30-for-33 on successful clears, and held big edges in shots (58-10) and ground balls (56-29).

Dallas (0-2) limited the opposition to three goals in the first quarter. Despite being outdone 15-5 in that stanza, the Crusaders allowed two early goals to Spencer Dorfneilsen and Ethan Austin. Dorfneilsen assisted on the second goal. Jackson Lynch added the third goal in the last four minutes.

The Crusaders struggled to find any footing offensively with Austin Gibbons (St. Charles, Ill.), Dan McCrorey (Reno, Nev.), and Tucker Jameson (Mechanicsville, Md.) putting the team's four shots on cage. Gibbons led with three total. Sam Dixon (Hurst, Texas) and Owen Gibbons (St. Charles, Ill.) worked 30 minutes for UD in goal with seven and six saves, respectively.

Hendrix extended the advantage with seven second-half goals to go up 10 at halftime. The Warriors scored 11 in the second half with five and six in the respective quarters.

Dorfneilsen and Alex Davis combined for 10 goals with six and four, respectively. Max Lynch dished a team-high five assists and the squad in orange and black had 13 combined.

Patrick Adamo earned the win with the start and first half completed in goal. Garrison Winter took care of the second half, as the duo combined to blank UD with two saves apiece.
