Crusaders fall at Columbia College on Saturday

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Dallas men's lacrosse team was edged 16-1 on a snowy day in the Midwest at Columbia College on Saturday. The Cougars (5-1) surged out to a 10-0 lead in the first 15 minutes, and never looked back as they scored 16 times en route to their fifth straight victory.

Jake Frederick (Coppell, Texas) scored the Crusaders (2-7) lone goal later in the match on a man-up opportunity. Frederick now has scored in the last six games and led the team with six shots. Tucker Jameson (Mechanicsville Md.) added five attempts. Austin Gibbons (St. Charles, Mo.) picked up a team-high three ground balls. Hector Pinell-Sanchez (Manor, Texas) grabbed 17 saves.

Columbia was led by Tyler Parrott with four goals and an assist. Sam Crum also had five points with three goals and two helpers. Cooper Heck was the other hat trick for the Cougars with a trio of goals. The team accumulated 53 shots with 33 on cage and 48 ground balls. Nick Kaiser led the faceoffs with a 15-for-16 day. Ty Hosler earned his fourth goalie decision win with a shutout through the first half of play.

The team's combined for 31-of-34 on successful clears.
