Huntingdon defeats Crusaders on Sunday

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The University of Dallas dropped its Sunday road contest to Huntingdon College, 26-6. Tyler Smith (Snoqualmie, Wash.) put the Crusaders lone goal of the first quarter seven minutes in to make it a 2-1 score. The Hawks (1-1) rattled off the next seven goals, including six to finish off an 8-1 lead in through one quarter. Smith had the next Dallas (1-2) scoring play, but Huntingdon rolled on to a big victory. 

Tucker Jameson (Mechanicsville, Md.) led the Crusaders with a hat trick (3 goals). Austin Gibbons (St. Charles, Ill.) tallied the other UD goal. Fellow freshman teammate Joe Anderson (Fair Oaks, Calif.) distributed a personal-best three assists to raise his points total to eight on the young season. Five of the Crusaders' six goals were assisted. 

Cole Griffin (Lucas, Texas) eclipsed 20 saves for the second outing in a row with a complete 60 minutes in the goal. 

Huntingdon was led offensively by Mac Puller and Adrian Harper with four goals apiece. Sam Hitt totaled three goals to give the home team a trio of hat tricks. Bryce Coates led all players with six points thanks to a game-high four helpers. Three keepers played at least 15 minutes for Huntingdon, with starter Matt Murphy tallying two saves against six shots faced in the first half. 

Dallas was held to six faceoff wins out of 35 attempts and 14 ground balls. The Hawks won 29 faceoffs and collected 53 groundballs. They were called for five faceoff violations.
