Dallas Men's Golf Head Into Final Round of SCAC Championship in Seventh Place

WHITNEY, Texas - The University of Dallas men's golf team is in seventh place after the second of three rounds at the 2024 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships, hosted at the White Bluff Resort in Whitney, Texas.

Schreiner University is holding onto their day one lead with a score of 305 (+17), giving them an eight shot lead over second place Trinity University, who leapfrogged St. Thomas with a round two score of 303 (+15).  The Crusaders shot 308 (+20) in round two, falling one stroke behind Texas Lutheran and Centenary College who are now tied for fifth.

Jacob Mason of Trinity is the new individual leader at -3 after posting the lowest round of the tournament with a 67 in round two.  Andrew Bennett of Centenary College, who led at the end of day one, is now in second place at -2.

Rex Soulliere slipped down the leaderboard a few spots with a 76 in round two, but is still very much in the mix in fifth place at +4.  He is four strokes out of the top three, is third in the field in Par 5 scoring at -2 for the tournament, and is third in the field with seven total birdies.

Trey Schneider was one of the biggest movers on the day, climbing nine spots with a 75 in round two.  He is now tied for 12th at +9 for the tournament.

Michael Zhang shaved one stroke off his day one score with a 78 in round two, climbing two spots on the leaderboard to tied for 21st.  Iain Griggs was six strokes better than his day one self, shooting 79 in round two, but stayed put in a tie for 29th.  Antonio Alvarez shot 91 in round two to end the day tied for 33rd.
