Crusaders Golf in 2nd after Round 1 at the Alamo City Classic

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Dallas men's golf team competed in the first round (18 holes) at the Alamo City Classic in San Antonio on Monday. Dallas ended the day in second place with a score of 286. The Crusaders are one stroke behind the leading team, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and are one stroke ahead of third place team, Trinity University.

The four scores counted for the Crusaders were shot by Seth McNeill (Plano, Texas) with a 70, Emilio Montalvo (Mexico City, Mexico) with a 71, Robby Evans (Flower Mound, Texas) with a 72, and Jacob Wade (Houston, Texas) with a 73. The fifth Crusader, Trey Schneider (Mooresvile, N.C.) shot a 74.  McNeill and Montalvo are both currently in the individual top 10 at tied for 3rd and tied for 9th. McNeill was able to count five birdies to help gain his personal-best score.

Texas Lutheran University's Chase Maus is the current individual leader at 68, and Mary-Hardin Baylor's current leaders, William Sammons and Ari Saldana, are tied with McNeil for third place with 70.

Individual Standings

The Tournament will conclude with the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
