UD Men's Golf Tied 7th at Alamo City Classic After Monday

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of Dallas men's golf team completed round one of the Alamo City Classic on Monday. The Crusaders carded a 305 to tie for seventh with Texas Lutheran University. Other Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) opponents competing include host Trinity University and Schreiner University, who happen to be in second and third place, respectively. University of Mary Hardin-Baylor leads the group with a 292, just two strokes ahead of Trinity and three better than Schreiner.

Robby Evans (Flower Mound, Texas), the 2017 Alamo City Classic winner, leads the Crusaders with a 75 and is tied for 16th. He is in the team's fifth position. Jacob Trevino (Lake Forest, Ill.) followed with a 76. The remaining trio of players posted a 77 with that unit consisting of: Emilio Montalvo (Mexico City, Mexico), Jacob Wade (Magnolia, Texas), and Erik Hamm (Brentwood, Tenn.). Hamm and Trevino were tied for the team-lead in birdies (4) and were tied for third most in the field.

Landon Oney from LeTourneau University shot a 67 (-4 Par) to lead the group. Robert Quintana from Hardin-Simmons University followed with a 68 (-3), and Jake Sitterle at Schreiner University was a 69 (-2) for third.

Seven players shot even or under par on the Par 71 course at The Quarry Golf Club.
