UD Men's Golf finished 5th at Rockwind Links Intercollegiate

HOBBS, N.M. – The University of Dallas men's golf team wrapped up the Rockwind Links Intercollegiate on Monday. Dallas improved its team score with a 301 compared to 306 on Sunday for a 603 overall mark that was fifth best out of eight teams.

Robby Evans (Flower Mound, Texas) turned in a 76 and had the best finish on the Crusaders with a 147 to tie for fourth place. Erik Hamm (Brentwood, Tenn.) carded the best score for the team with a74 to improve his total to 151 and tied for 12th. Jacob Wade (Magnolia, Texas) hit a 75 in the round to improve four strokes. He tied 19th to give UD a trio of scores with the first 20 spots.

Jacob Trevino (Lake Forest, Ill.) improved from his first round score, lowering it to a 76 in the second round and 155 overall. Another rookie that had made his debut as an individual was James Trachsel (Lake Bluff, Ill.) with a 159 (78, 81).

Host school McMurry University secured first place with 581 (289, 293) total strokes. Hardin-Simmons University got second with a 599 (299, 300), and fellow Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) foe, Texas Lutheran University, got third with a 603. Another SCAC school, Schreiner University, got fourth with a 606 that was just a stroke better.
