Montalvo Captured SCAC Men's Golfer of the Week after Great Performance
EMILIO MONTALVO OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a sophomore from Mexico City, Mexico, has been selected the SCAC Men's Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Wednesday, April 10 through Tuesday, April 16. It is his second time in the 2018-19 season to capture the weekly honor, with the other time on Week 4 (Oct. 3, 2018).
Montalvo set a school record low third-round score of 210, after carding a 71 on Tuesday's final round to lead the Crusaders to a second place finish at the Rhodes College Spring Classic. Montalvo shot -6 for the tournament to finish in fourth place.
Montalvo grabbed one eagle on the course and led Dallas with 11 birdies. The sophomore now has three school records on the season with two coming in this tournament. His previous low three round record (212) was set at the John Bohmann Memorial Invitational.
The Crusaders will look to carry their momentum into the SCAC Championship at Vaaler Creek Golf Club in Blanco, Texas, on April 22-23.
