Crusaders Complete First Day at 2019 West Cup; Jacob Wade Sits in a Tie For 12th after 36 Holes

La Verne, Calif. - The University of Dallas men's golf team completed Round One and Two at the 2019 West Cup held at Sierra La Verne Country Club on Monday. Jacob Wade (Magnolia, Texas) headlines the Dallas team with an overall two-round total of 149 (78, season-best 71). Wade is currently tied for 12th on the leaderboard after moving up 28 spots from his first-round score. His seven birdies (five in 1st round) tied second-most among the field of players. 

Dallas jumped up three spots in the second round to 9th place overall. There are 16 teams in the field, including fellow Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) opponent Trinity University. 

Emilio Montalvo (Mexico City, Mexico), who shot a 153 (76, 77), sits in a tie for 29th. Erik Hamm (Brentwood, Tenn.) shot one stroke more than Hamm (154). Thomas Schuberg (Camarillo, Calif.) carded a 165, while Robby Evans (Flower Mound, Calif.) finished with a 168.

Ken Kong (Claremont-Mudd-Scripps) leads the group after shooting a 143 (75, 68) on the Par 71 course. His teammate Alex Wrenn sits in a tie for second place with Jason Brown (La Verne) with a 144.

The University of La Verne leads the way with a team score of 586. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps College is two strokes behind La Verne for a 588, while the University of Redlands completes the top-three with a score of 590.
