Golf Concludes West Region Invitational on Tuesday

GEORGETOWN, Texas – The University of Dallas men's golf team concluded the West Region Invitational at Berry Creek Club. Entering play in sixth after 36 holes completed from Monday, the Crusaders struggled with a 322 in the third round and dipped to eighth overall with a 935 (309, 304, 322) finish.

Host Southwestern University prevailed in first place despite its lowest round-score on the day bringing it to 899 (294, 299, 306). Concordia University and Mary Hardin-Baylor held their positions of second and third, respectively, by totaling a 905 (305, 291, 309) and 909 (309, 300, 300).

Jacob Wade (Magnolia, Texas) shot the lowest round score for UD with a 79 and finished in the standings tied for 17th thanks to a 231. Emilio Montalvo (Mexico City, Mexico), Robby Evans (Flower Mound, Texas), and Will Doctor (Houston, Texas) all were within five strokes overall. The quartet scored from a 79-82, respectively, in the last round to count towards the team score.

Seger Howell from Concordia won with a 214 (71, 70, 73) individually. Southwestern's Cade Osgood (72, 76,74) and Matthew Christi ( 75, 73, 74) posted the next highest total with a 222.

Individual Standings

Dallas turns its attention to the SCAC Championship at Panther Trail Golf Club in The Woodlands, Texas. Tee off on the links begins April 23rd and will be over two days.
