Men's Golf ties 6th in Linda Lowery Invitational

AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Dallas men's golf team concluded play in the Linda Lowery Invitational hosted by Concordia University. On Tuesday, foggy conditions delayed the shot gun start to 9:45 a.m. at River Place Country Club. The Crusaders trimmed three strokes from their first round score on Monday with a 314 and finished tied for sixth with Birmingham Southern for sixth place with a 631.

Concordia won with a 586 (294, 292) behind the best scores of any team on both rounds. University of Texas at Tyler (300, 297) was the other team to dip below 300 on the second round to secure second with a 597. Fellow SCAC team Southwestern University rounded out the top three teams with a 615.

Texas Lutheran University scored 624 (315, 309), to finish fifth just ahead of UD. The Crusaders did edge Schreiner University who tallied a 633 (307, 326).

Emilio Montalvo (Mexico City, Mexico) again posted the lowest individual score on the day for Dallas. His own total rose three strokes to a 77 to give him a 151 overall for a tie in 8th. Thomas Schuberg (Camarillo, Calif.) followed in second on the squad with a 157 (79, 78) to tie for 29th.

Erik Hamm (Brentwood, Tenn.) debuted his 2017-18 season with an 80 to equal the same score both rounds. Jacob Wade (Magnolia, Texas) and Seth McNeill (Plano, Texas) each lowered their second-round marks with a 79 and 84, respectively.

Tyler Uhlig shot -3 Par and finished with a 139 (67, 72) to win the individual title from UT Tyler. Clayton King and Logan Young from Concordia claimed second and third respectively. King shot -2 with a 140 (74, 66), and his teammate followed with a 144 (72, 72).
