Wade ties Men's Golf Low Round Record; Dallas 6th at UMHB Fall Invitational

KILLEEN, Texas – Jacob Wade (Magnolia, Texas) tied a University of Dallas men's golf Record Low Round score with a 69 to propel him into a tie for second place in the UMHB Fall Invitational. Wade took eight strokes off his score from Monday and soared up the leaderboard to finish with a 146. Robby Evans (Flower Mound, Texas) tallied a 147 overall to tie for sixth in the standings. After shooting a season-low in the first round (71), the freshman etched a 76 to get a pair of Crusaders within the top 10 on the leaderboard.

Dallas as a team repeated its score in both 18-hole rounds with 305s for a 610 cumulative that placed them sixth. Trinity University performed the best in the second round with a 297 and finished with a 589 to win the tournament. Texas Lutheran University narrowly claimed second with a 598, and Hardin-Simmons University remained in third at the end of both days with a 599. Host University of Mary Hardin-Baylor just missed the top three with a 600.

Dawson Dally claimed the lowest individual score with a 144, and was two strokes better than the next four golfers that finished. TLU's Wyatt Blezinger and Matthew McArthur, and Luke Smith from Hardin-Simmons joined Wade with 146 apiece.

Wade's Low Round score shattered a personal-best in 2016 when he posted a 76 throughout a trio of tournaments. The first time was on October 11th at the same golf course, Stonetree Golf Club. Wade ties Chris Eckes with the program record first set at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) down in Blanco, Texas, on April 20th, 2015.
