Schuberg's personal-best Ties a Low Three Round School Record; Golf sets Low Three Round Record Tuesday

SEGUIN, Texas – The University of Dallas men's golf team completed the John Bohmann Memorial Invitational on Tuesday at the Starcke Park Municipal Course. The Crusaders shot 291 as a team and broke the school record for lowest in three rounds with an 874. After setting three program bests on Monday, Dallas buried another long-standing mark, 952, held at the NAIA District 8 Championship in Fort Worth on May 4-5, 1981.
Thomas Schuberg (Camarillo, Calif.) notched a personal-best 70 in the final frame to give him the best finish individually by UD with a 215. He tied 7th and also matched UD Hall of Famer Dan Cruse for the lowest three rounds score. Cruse etched his number at the Gatesville Invitational in 1959.
Emilio Montalvo (Mexico City, Mexico) repeated his second round performance with another 74 to get second on the team and tied 11th overall with a 218. Will Doctor (Houston, Texas) etched the second lowest score on Tuesday with a 73 and followed right behind his classmate with a 219 which tied for 16th. Robby Evans (Flower Mound, Texas) posted his best round of 18 holes with a 74 and tied Seth McNeill (Plano, Texas) overall in the standings with a 229.
Dallas began the final frame tied with Texas Lutheran University in third place, but the Crusaders were two strokes behind the hosts of the invitational and moved to fourth in the fall tournament opener. Concordia University prevailed with an 856 after leading for the third straight round with a 286. Reigning Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Champions, Southwestern University, tied the Tornados with the best score in Tuesday's finale, but finished second with an 867. Texas Lutheran completed the top three with an 872.
Dallas' score narrowly clipped Trinity University (875) and Schreiner University (880), who each respectively finished fifth and sixth in the standings.
Will Arend from Concordia captured the individual title with a 207 (69, 68, 70) scored. Colin Uecker from TLU scored a 212 (70, 72, 70) for second place. Concordia's Logan Young and Southwestern's Tyler Gammill tied for the next two spots with a 214 apiece. Young matched Arend's lowest score of the entire tournament with a 68 from his second round.
