Double-Doubles for Toussaint and Boyle in Loss to Trinity

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Dallas men's basketball team lost their conference matchup with Trinity University 74-65 this evening.  They fall to 3-11 on the year and 1-5 in conference play.

The Crusaders jumped out to an early 7-2 lead after three minutes of play.  They would spend much of the first half fighting tooth and nail to hold onto that lead; though the Top 25 vote receivingTigers were able to tie the game three separate times in a three minute span, Dallas still clung to a 20-19 lead with 9:48 left on the clock.  Trinity would go on to score 10 unanswered points after that, as the Crusaders went nearly four minutes without scoring.  However, Dallas was able to turn the tide in the final minutes of the half, almost completely erasing the deficit and trailing 31-33 at the half.

Letrell Toussaint already had his double-double by the end of the half, leading all players with 10 points and 10 rebounds; he would remain the games leader in both categories by the end of the game, tallying 16 points and 16 rebounds.

Dallas carried their momentum into the second half, retaking the lead barely a minute into the half at 35-33.  Again, the two sides went toe-to-toe, and again the Crusaders were able to hold onto a narrow lead.  The Tigers squeaked ahead 44-43 with 13:45 on the clock, and that would be the last lead change of the game.  The Crusaders were well within striking distance for the rest of the game, but Trinity slowly slipped away and sealed the win.

Marcus Juarez and Jai Love each provided 15 points on the night, combining to play 79 minutes on the night.  Jack Boyle, who was given just his third start tonight, recorded yet another double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
