Crusaders Outlast Centenary to Pick Up First Conference Win

IRVING, Texas. - The University of Dallas men's basketball team won their conference matchup with Centenary College 81-76 this evening.  They are now 1-0 to start conference play.

The Crusaders made sure to come out swinging in their conference opener, as both teams traded blows for much of the first half.  There wered three lead changes in the first 10 minutes, with Centenary holding a narrow 16-15 lead.  Dallas reclaimed the lead with a layup by Letrell Toussaint with 9:45 and never looked back, taking a 34-26 lead into half-time.  

Dallas lead by 16 at one point in the second half, but the Gents nearly clawed their way back in the dying minutes of the game.  With 20 seconds left, Centenary were withing 3 points, but the Crusaders went 5-7 from the line in the dying seconds to hold onto their lead and take home the 81-76 win.

Four out of five starters for Dallas hit double-digit points on the night, Jai Love leading the pack with 18.  Letrell Toussaint had his second double-double in three games, recording 16 points with 14 rebounds.  Jack Boyle once again provided all-important support off the bench with another double-double, notching 10 points and 10 rebounds in 23 minutes.
