Norton and Nunn Garner USCAA National All-Academic Team Honors

UNIONTOWN, Pa. - The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) announced its National All-Academic winners for Division I & Division II basketball during its National Championship Banquet at Seven Springs Resort on Saturday, March 2nd and Wednesday, March 6th. The USCAA National All-Academic award is given to student-athletes with at least 24 credits and a 3.5 GPA.

The University of Dallas men's basketball team placed two members of its 2018-19 roster on the list with Ben Norton (Louisville, Ky.) and Joshua Nunn (St. Louis, Mo.) receiving the honor. This is the first recognition for this academic accolade for the duo, and gives the Crusaders a five-year stretch of a member from the team earning it.

Norton was the lone senior on a young squad this season and produced career-bests with 69 points (4.3 ppg) and 80 rebounds (Team-high 41 offensive boards) in 16 contests (2 starts).

Nunn was a force in his second year lettering with starts in all 28 games. The sophomore point guard averaged 9.8 points, logging personal-bests in made three-pointers (32) and a team-high in free throws (102) for consecutive years. Nunn also dished 68 assists to push him over 100 in his career (103).

Norton is majoring in Business and holds other academic honors including NABC Honors Court (2017-18) and SCAC Winter Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll (2016-17). Nunn was on the SCAC Winter Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll in 2017-18.

Nunn and Norton played big roles in the fifth-seeded Crusaders' run to the program's first SCAC Men's Basketball Championship Game, which they fell by four in double overtime.
