Dallas Men Tame Lobos, 77-69

The University of Dallas men's basketball team extended their win streak to two games after a convincing 77-69 victory in front of a huge crowd at the Maher Center Friday night. The comeback victory boosts their season record to 2-1. The contest, which was the second of the University of Dallas Tip-Off Classic and first for the squad, featured another come from behind effort after being behind by 6 at the intermission. Spurred by a 54 point second half on 19 of 29 shooting, Dallas overcame the gap in prevailing by 8. The second half performance also included 57.1 percent shooting from beyond the arc, and raised the teams overall shooting percentage for the game to over 50 percent while accounting for over two thirds of their total offense.

Senior guard Jim Norton (Louisville, KY/Holy Angels Academy) led the team in scoring with 20 points, followed by senior point guard Jeff Pritchard (Oak Grove, LA/Frisco H.S.) with 19, and senior forward Travis Ekmark (Yokosuka, Japan/Nile C. Kinnick H.S.) with 17. Ekmark also led in blocks with 3, steals with 3, and rebounds with 6. Freshman guard Zach Latimore (Misawa, Japan/Robert D. Edgren H.S.) dished out a team high 4 assists to go along with his 9 points and 4 rebounds.

UD will play their second and final game of the tournament as host against Rust University on Saturday at 4:00pm.
