IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas baseball team lost their conference series finale against Texas Lutheran on Saturday, as the Bulldogs completed the sweep.  The Crusaders fall to 14-22 on the year and 5-13 in conference play.

Dallas 0, Texas Lutheran 6

WP: Keene Kreusler (1-1)

LP: Adrian Montenegro (0-6)

The Crusaders were 90 feet away from striking first in their final home game of the season after Adrian Montenegro set the Bulldogs down in order to start the game.  Tyler Darnell led off the bottom of the frame with a single, reached second on a wild pitch, and reached third base with two outs, but was stranded there to end the inning.

Once again, the Crusaders threatened in the second, getting runners on first and third thanks to a pair of single by Paxton Huff and Andrew Gaspar.  But Huff was nabbed at the plate on an attempted squeeze play for the second out, and the Bulldogs got out of the jam unscathed.

Dallas was competitive at the plate all day, but failed to come up with the timely hits they needed to score.  The Bulldogs came up big when they needed it, finding the base knock with multiple runners three times in the game.  It came down to three two-RBI singles: one in the third, one in the fourth, and one in the ninth.  Dallas stranded a pair of runners in the third and seventh innings, that big hit simply eluding them though they got runners into scoring position.

Montenegro had a solid outing on the mound, going 7.2 innings while allowing four runs on eight hits.  Andrew Gaspar reached base every time he went to the plate, going 2-for-2 with two walks.
