Big Inning Lifts Hardin-Simmons Past Dallas

ABILENE, Texas - The University of Dallas baseball team lost their non-conference matchup with Hardin-Simmons on Tuesday.  They fall to a 9-21 record on the year.

Game Information - Dallas 5, Hardin-Simmons 18

WP: Hayden Clark (4-0)

LP: Colby Fuller (0-2)

The game would ultimately be decided after a disastrous first inning that saw Hardin-Simmons score 16 runs.  Colby Fuller wouldn't make it out of the first for the Crusaders, as Ryan Flores came in to relive with two outs in the inning.  Once out of the first, Flores would go on to have a solid outing in relief, allowing one run over the next four innings of work.

Dallas chipped away at the deficit with an RBI single by Tyler Darnell in the third, and RBI's by Anthony Maldonado and Tim Andre in the fourth, but couldn't answer back in a big enough way to make a game of it.  The Crusaders needed five runs in the seventh to stay alive, but only plated one on an RBI single by Jon Talley as Hardin-Simmons saw out the comfortable win.

Darnell went 3-4 with three singles and an RBI, and Talley went 2-4 with a double and an RBI.
