Tigers Complete Sweep

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Dallas baseball team lost their conference game with Trinity University on Sunday.  The Tigers completed a three game sweep, as the Crusaders drop to 3-6 in conference play.

Game Information - Dallas 4, Trinity 12

WP: Harrison Durow (3-0)

LP: Adrian Montenegro (4-3)

Though both teams would threaten to score in the first two innings, it was Dallas who opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the third.  A couple of walks and a base hit bunt by Mike Andersen loaded the bases with no outs for Dallas.  Tyler Darnell singled home Zach Solomon for the games' first run, then grady Birmingham brought in Andrew Gaspar hitting into a double play.  A pop out would end the inning with Andersen stranded on third.

A rough bottom of the inning saw the Crusaders give up four runs on two hits, the Tigers helped along by three walks, a hit batter, and and error across two different pitchers in the inning.  The game was still well within reach, as the two sides traded blows in the fourth and fifth innings, Trinity holding onto a slim 5-4 advantage at the midway point.

The Tigers homered three times across the seventh and eigth innings, adding seven runs to their lead in the process.  Dallas managed just three baserunners on one hit from the sixth through the ninth inning, giving Trinity the win and the series sweep.
