Comets Take Series Finale

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas baseball team lost their non-conference matchup with Capital University 16-6 Tuesday evening.  they fall to 4-6 on the year.

Game Information - Dallas 6, Capital 16 (7 Innings)

WP: Kyle Bowles (1-0)

LP: Ryan Flores (0-3)

The Comets took an early 1-0 lead on three straight hits in the first.  With runners onf first and second and only one out, they could have made it more, but Ryan Flores got out of the jam by getting the next two batters out.  The Crusaders would strike back in the bottom of the inning, scoring two runs on an RBI double by David Saldana to take a 2-1 lead.

However, that would be the last lead of the day for the Crusaders.  The Comets would go on to rack up 13 runs on 14 hits over the next four innings, taking a commanding 14-4 lead as the Crusaders struggled at the plate.  They would threaten and score in the fifth, sixth, and seventh, but couldn't string enough hits together to make a meningful dent in the deficit.  Capital added two runs in the seventh for good measure, and would see out the comfortable win.

Michael Andersen and Cade Corbett each had two hits on the day.  Jon Talley was 1-2 with an RBI and two walks, and Zach Salomon and Andrew Gaspar each came off the bench and delivered RBI's.
