Crusaders Routed by Millsaps

JACKSON, Miss. - The University of Dallas baseball team lost their non-conference game with Millsaps College 22-1 Sunday afternoon.  They fall to 2-4 on the year.

Things got off to a rough start for the Crusaders.  After a scoreless top of the first, the Majors got on the board first thanks a a two-out error with runners on first and second. but the Crusaders were able to get out of the ensuing bases loaded jam.  Millsaps put up a crooked number in a hurry, however, piling on seven runs on six hits to take a commanding 8-1 lead after two innings.  It would be more of the same from then on, as Millsaps scored two runs or more in every inning but the eighth. 

Dallas finally got on the board in the sixth inning with an RBI single by Jon Talley, bringing his weekend total to nine, but the Crusaders were trailing by 17 runs at that point.  They would go the rest of the game without getting a hit, and Millsaps would get their revenge for yesterday's 15-9 loss at the hands of the Crusaders.

The Crusaders get nearly two weeks off before their next game.  They will be on the road to face East Texas Baptist on Tuesday, March 1 at 7:00 p.m.
