Crusaders Split with LeTourneau on Wednesday

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas baseball team played its home-opening, two-game series against LeTourneau University on Wednesday. In game one, a low scoring defensive game turned lopsided when the Yellow Jackets scored six runs in the last two innings for an 8-2 victory by LeTourneau. In game two, Dallas rallied back to claim the win 6-1. After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the first, Dallas put together a trio of two-run innings in the 1st, 3rd and 4th. Zach Taylor (Humble, Texas) was responsible for most of the offense in game two with a two RBI single in the 1st and an RBI double in the 4th.  Hardy pitching performances by starter Tyler Montemayor (Boerne, Texas) and relievers Andrew Magness (San Antonio, Texas), Ryan Flores (San Diego, Calif.) and Jon Talley (Pineville, La.) kept LeTourneau's offense hampered allowing only one unearned run and four hits along with nine strikeouts.
