Hovde Earns 2020 USCAA Baseball National All-Academic Team Honor for 3rd Year

NORFOLK, Va. – The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) announced its National All-Academic Team for baseball. Nicolas Hovde (Waco, Texas) represented the University of Dallas as the lone representative this spring for the squad. Hovde has earned the academic distinction all three years he has been eligible and is the only Crusader to accomplish that feat. He is among a group of eight Crusaders that have been named to the all-academic team multiple times. Hovde was also listed three times on the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Spring Academic Honor Roll. Hovde is majoring in business with a concentration in marketing.

This continues a stretch of five consecutive years the UD baseball program has had at least one student-athlete named with the all-academic laurels. That stretch is part of a bigger span of the team having had at least one selection for 10 of the last 11 years. 14 different Crusaders have earned the accolade.

The National All-Academic team honors are awarded to student-athletes of sophomore standing or higher with at least a 3.5 GPA.
