Hovde Joins Waco Missions for NBC World Series; Play July 27-31

WICHITA, Kan. – Nicolas Hovde (Waco, Texas) of the University of Dallas baseball team was selected by the Waco Missions to play in the 85th National Baseball Congress (NBC) World Series. The Missions earned a bid to the NBC World Series by winning the Brazos Baseball Association League Championship. The Missions are in Pool D with Hays Larks and Great Bend Bat Cats. They are scheduled to play Hays Larks on Saturday, July 27, at 3:30 p.m. in the second game of the day.

The first week of games play from Saturday, July 27 – Wednesday, July 31, with Championship Week following through the first 10 days of August. All contests will be played at Eck Stadium, which is home of NCAA Division I Wichita State Athletics. Click here to follow the schedule of the NBC World Series.

Hovde had been playing summer ball with the Texas Kings out of the Brazos Baseball Association League. His native city had the Missions selected and was picked up by them to give Dallas two participants in the NBC World Series. Jamie Wallace (Crocket, Texas) is playing for the Texas Express, who will start play on Championship Week.
