UD Baseball has 14 Players in Summer Ball

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas baseball team has 14 players keeping busy with summer ball. There are five rising seniors and three rising sophomores in this group. Three players were involved, Conrad Voss (Corona, Calif.), Joseph Vondrachek (North St. Paul, Minn.), and Travis Moore (Grand Prairie, Texas), with a summer ball team in 2018.
Voss headlines the group with Traverse City Pit Spitters in the Northwoods League. Voss, who earned New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) Pitcher of the Year, was an All-Star and led the NYCBL in wins going 6-1 with a 2.68 ERA a summer ago. He walked five and struck out 35.
Voss finished the last couple weeks of the summer stretch with the Battle Creek Bombers who are also in the Northwoods League. So far in five appearances for the Spitters, Voss is 0-2 with seven earned runs allowed in 8.2 innings. He has given up all his runs in two outings, tossing 4.2 scoreless frames of one-hit ball in the others. He also recorded a strikeout in his first three outings, posting five overall. Player Profile
A quartet of Crusaders are playing in Western Major Baseball League. Andrew Magness (San Antonio, Texas), Zachary Taylor (Humble, Texas), Derek Trevino (Orange Grove, Texas), Cade Corbett (Corona, Calif.) are teammates on the Yorkton Cardinals.
Taylor is just pitching this summer. On the mound, the rising senior has thrown five innings over four games with a start. He has allowed two runs on three hits, while walking two and striking out three. Magness, another UD starting pitcher, has made two appearances and one start to log nine innings. He has allowed 11 run on 10 hits and walked seven while fanning three. Trevino has made four relief appearances. Another group of UD players in the same league are Zach Salomon (Oklahoma City, Okla.), Michael Jaquez (Irving, Texas), Austin Offutt (Frisco, Texas), and Moore with the Metro Scout League. Jaquez is with DBAT CL-Bacsik who are off to a 5-3 start in the Fort Worth Division. Moore and Salomon are part of the Texas Toros, while Offutt is with Tribe Baseball in the Dallas Division. Jamie Wallace (Crockett, Texas) and Jake Feuer (Houston, Texas) are in South Texas part of the Houston Collegiate Summer League. Wallace is with the Westchase Express and Feuer is playing for the Texas Bandits.
Vondrachek is playing with the Stockmen's Irish, who are part of the Skyline League that is in the Minnesota Baseball Association. In 2018, the infielder was selected to the 2018 Palm Springs Collegiate League All-Stars.
Andrew Womack (Vienna, Va.) and Tyler Montemayor (Boerne, Texas) round out the summer baseball players from UD. Womack is with Park City Rangers in the Kansas City Baseball League, and Montemayor is on the TPU Titans in the Centex League.
