FIRST PITCH

The University of Dallas baseball team will take on the defending SCAC conference champions and No. 5 ranked Texas Lutheran University this weekend for a three-game series. The doubleheader on Saturday will begin at 12:00 p.m. On Sunday the series will wrap up with first pitch set for 1:00 p.m. The Crusaders are coming off a 1-2 weekend at Centenary College.


UDCRUSADER HEADLINES

- Conrad Voss (Corona, Calif.) sits atop the SCAC in the wins category (5).

- Tyler Montemayor (Boerne, Texas) continues to lead the Crusaders with three saves. That mark is tied for the conference lead.

- Dallas is 12-2 leading after six innings.

- Jessup Scott (Lewiston, Idaho) and Nathan Patton (McKinney, Texas) are both tied for the team lead with 20 RBI.

- Dallas leads the SCAC with 126 walks.


BY THE NUMBERS

- TLU holds a 20-8 all-time record vs. Dallas

- The Bulldogs swept the series last year winning 8-1, 7-3, and 6-2.

- In 2017 Dallas won Game One 5-4, but fell in the next two games in Irving.

A LOOK AT THE BULLDOGS

- Tyler Cauley leads the team and ranks third among SCAC players driving in 21 runs. Cauley also has a team-leading five homeruns.

- Dylan Murrell leads the Bulldogs with a 2.65 earned run average.

- Nathan Mallinovsky has struck out 35 batters on his campaign (5th SCAC).

- Murrell leads the team with four wins.

-The Bulldogs are 3-3 in true road games this season.


ALUMNI WEEKEND

- During the weekend, we invite you all to come out, mingle with other alumni, and support our current Crusaders, as well as attend a Crusader Baseball alumni social event at a local restaurant Saturday evening.  Sunday before our game, we will recognize all alumni in attendance on the field.
 
- Our alumni, and those who built this program are extremely important to us and we want to recognize those who have came before us! This promises to be a great weekend of fellowship, strolls down memory lane, and great baseball.

FACULTY-STAFF-FAMILY UD SPORTS TAILGATE 

- Free Hamburgers and hotdogs at the field out by the Baseball Clubhouse, near where the tennis courts used to be.

- At 11:30, we'll be having free hamburgers and hot dogs before the baseball double-header at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. The grill is open during both baseball games. We'll be meeting out by the baseball clubhouse 


UP NEXT

Dallas will begin April by traveling to take on non-conference opponent Thomas More University March 6-7. Saturday's twinbill will begin at 12:00 p.m. The series will then wrap up on Sunday with first pitch scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
