- Luke Boylson (Fairview, Texas) extended his hitting streak over the weekend to three with a knock. Colby Davenport (Crockett, Texas) recorded the other multi-hit game with a pair (2-3).

- The nine base hits for the Crusaders was a season-most.

- Joe Pradat paced the Panthers offense with three RBI and a 4-for-5 day at the dish. A quartet of players also notched two hits apiece for LC. Tavin Thompson posted both of his for doubles. Pradat had the other two-bagger and stole a base.

- Andrew Weekley logged seven innings of 1-run ball and scattered five hits. He struck out six while walking none in the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Both teams scored in the second inning. LaGrange grabbed its lead for good with two runs. Billy Peatross singled to center field and drove in Cain Sauls who led off the frame with a single down the left field line. He advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt. Pradat then doubled down the other line with two outs to score Swift who had grounded into a fielder's choice the previous play.

Dallas got a run back immediately in its turn to hit with a Peterson home run. He was last year's leading slugger to go yard with three.

In the fifth inning, the Panthers tacked on a run to extend it to 3-1. A two-out double by Thompson set up the next at bat for Casey Bell to drive him in on a knock through to left field. LaGrange added a pair in the seventh and one in the eighth to make it 6-1.

After allowing four straight runs, the Crusaders rallied back with two runs on four hits in the bottom of the eighth. Scioli smacked his first career dinger to left field to start the inning. Zachary Taylor (Humble, Texas) came off the bench and singled with back-to-backs behind Davenport to put two on. After a lineout to left, Davenport hustled to third base. Hanson singled through the right side to score the left fielder. Consecutive strikeouts ended the threat as LaGrange's Jonathan Fleckenstein escaped with no further damage.

Blake Butcher homered for the opposition as part of a two-run ninth and UD went down in order in the final turn to end up dropping the third in a row at the Millsaps Tournament.
