SOPHOMORE YEAR (2009): 19 games (11 starts), 8 hits in 39 at bats for a .205 batting avg., 4 RBI, 6 runs, 4 doubles, and 1 steal.

FRESHMAN YEAR (2008): 13 games (5 starts), 4 hits in 18 at bats for a .222 batting avg., 4 RBI, 3 runs, and 2 doubles. Also, 6 appearances, 10 innings, 1 win, 8.10 ERA, 9 strikeouts.

PREVIOUS SCHOOL: Before transferring, Lopez redshirted during the 2007 season at Rollins College (FL). While at Rollins, he received an academic/baseball scholarship, was named to the Athletic Directors Honor Roll & the National Deans List.

HIGH SCHOOL: Four year letter winner as a shortstop & pitcher. 2003 New Mexico State Championship Team, team captain last two years, SPX Senior Baseball Scholar Athlete of the Year (2006), Charlie Otero Sartan Baseball Player of the Year (2006), two time SPX Invitational All-Tournament Team, Rio Rancho H.S. PERSONAL: Martin is the son of Martin Lopez III and Elizabeth Lopez, and was born on April 9, 1988. He has one sister and is a Psychology major at UD. His favorite movie is Oceans 11, his favorite athlete is Ozzie Smith, and his role models are his parents. In his free time he enjoys reading, exercising, and hanging out with friends and his plan is to become a successful lawyer or psychologists.
