Baseball and Softball Shift Schedules Going Into Final Week

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas baseball and softball teams announced changes to their schedules as they enter the final week of the regular season.

Softball's series finale against Southwestern University was rained out this past Saturday with torrential storms hitting DFW.  Though the two sides were in talks to reschedule the game for later this week, those plans have now been abandoned and the game is officially canceled. 

The Crusaders will now look ahead to their final series of the regular season.  They will face Schreiner University on the road for a three game series, starting with a doubleheader at noon on Saturday, April 27.

Having already rescheduled the game once, baseball has decided to cancel tomorrow's game against Hardin-Simmons University.  They will instead rest up in preparation for a crucial three-game series at home against Schreiner University to wrap up the regular season.

After dropping two out of three games to Trinity this past weekend, the Crusaders are now on the outside looking in when it comes to a spot in the SCAC Championship.  A sweep of Schreiner would give them their best chance, though they are counting on a number of scenarios out of their control to keep them in the hunt.

Dates, times, and locations for baseball's series against Schreiner are also subject to change, as inclement weather is forecast for this weekend.  Stay tuned for updates as they are needed.
