IRVING, Texas – The 2018 schedule for the University of Dallas men's and women's cross country teams have been released. The Crusaders will race in seven competitions this fall, including three times in September and October.

Entering his fifth season, head coach Matt Barber will look to prepare the teams for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) and United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Championships at the end of the season.

The season opens Sept. 1 locally in Mansfield, Texas, as UD takes part in the DBU Patriot/Orville Rogers XC Opener.

The Crusaders travel to Abilene on Sept. 15 for the Hardin-Simmons University Invitational, and then conclude the first month at the OLLU Collegiate Cross Country Invitational down in San Antonio on the 22nd.

The calendar flips to October with Dallas running in the University of the Ozarks Invitational on the 6th. Another trio of competitions are marked down in the month, headlined by the SCAC Championship near the end at Kerrville, Texas. Each of these competitions during this span were ran by the Crusaders last year.

The lone 5k on the docket for the men's team is the home meet for the Crusaders on Oct. 13. Dallas has held its own invitational the past three seasons. The women's cross country team is scheduled to run four 5k's, with two of them in the opening month. After consecutive 5ks at University of the Ozarks and at home, the women's team will conclude the remainder of the slate with 6ks.

The SCAC Championship follows the Crusaders home invitational on Oct. 27 and will be hosted by Schreiner University. On November 9, the Crusaders make their annual trip to Virginia Beach for the USCAA Championship.
