Five UD athletes receive USCAA Player of the Week recognition

Five University of Dallas athletes have been garnered the United States Collegiate Athletic Association's (USCAA) 'Player of the Week' in their respecitve sports, for the week of Oct.18-24.

Men’s Soccer

Goalie of the Week

Sam Carter is the Men’s Soccer Goalie of the Week. Sam, a Freshman from the University of Dallas, has been victorious via the shutout in three of the last four matches and only allowed one goal this week. On “Senior Day” for UD, Sam posted the shutout over Colorado College with five saves.

Women’s Soccer

Player of the Week

Claire Sexton is the Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. Claire is a Freshman Forward from the University of Dallas. Claire scored her team leading 12th goal of the season and 2nd game winner against rival Austin College in a 1-0 victory. The goal brought her streak of consecutive games with one or more goals to 3.

Goalie of the Week

Brigid Hasson is the Women’s Soccer Goalie of the Week. Brigid is a Freshman from the University of Dallas. Brigid earned her 4th shutout on the year after withstanding 22 shots and recording 7 impressive saves in a 1-0 shutout over rival Austin College.

Volleyball

Player of the Week

Danielle Fuchs is the Volleyball Player of the Week. Danielle is a Junior Outside Hitter from the University of Dallas. Through four matches and 12 games this week Danielle posted 50 kills and a .333 hitting percentage. Defensively she recorded 40 digs and totaled 5 blocks.

Setter of the Week

Amanda Kitten is the Volleyball Setter of the Week. Amanda, a Sophomore from the University of Dallas, supplied 126 assists through four games and 12 matches this week. The team finished 2-2 on the week as Amanda also supplied seven blocks and six aces.
