#OTD in UD History: Bludworth Notches 3B Record (Led NCAA DIII in Season); Baseball Tops Baylor; Madrigal and Hahn score 10 goals in Win

On this date in the University of Dallas Athletics History:

April 12, 2015 – Colby Madrigal and Patty Hahn scored five goals apiece, while Madrigal added two assists for seven points in an 18-2 victory over College of St. Elizabeth (NJ).

April 12, 2014 – Dallas baseball swept Schreiner University 15-0 and 2-1 to extend its winning streak to five against conference opponents at home. Alex Thornton homered and drove in five, while Avery Arnold (4-4) and Patrick Stratton (3-3) added perfect days in the route. Mark Carlson had a 2-3 with an RBI and run in the second game. Denton Martin was masterful as he fanned seven and walked none while not allowing an earned run over eight innings.

April 12, 2008 – Kyle Huard posted a 3-3, 4 RBI, HR, 2B, and 2 runs in an 8-4 victory versus Austin College.

April 12, 2003 - Elena Yates broke the women’s track and field one mile record (5:49.28) at the Colorado College Invitational in 2003.

April 12, 2002 – The Crusaders softball team swept LeTourneau University to finish their inaugural campaign at 17-14 (Most wins until 2010). In game one, Katie Pryor singled to score Lynn Bartolotta for go-ahead run to make it 4-3 in the fifth.

Amanda Bludworth knocked her ninth triple to set the season record and lead NCAA DIII softball.

In game two, Morgan Ybarra and Pryor drove in two runs apiece and Bludworth and Kristin DiFrancesco combined to shutout the Yellow Jackets.

April 12, 1963 – Dallas baseball defeated Baylor, 4-2, at the Fort Hood Tournament.
