#OTD in UD History: Baseball Earns Pair of Walk-offs; Trio Combines for 12 RBI; Salotto leads WLAX in Triumph
On this date in the University of Dallas Athletics History:
April 15, 2012 – Dallas baseball defeated Southwestern University in 11 innings, 6-5. This secured a three-game sweep in the program’s first season in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC). It also capped a 10-10 season in league play. Hunter Berry drew a bases-loaded walk in the 11th for the walk-off.
April 15, 2008 – The Crusaders baseball team scored a pair of walk-offs against Schreiner University in Irving. A pair of runs lifted UD 6-4 in game one. In the second game, the Crusaders rattled three runs in their last turn to bat in a 7-6 final. Both contests were seven innings.
April 15, 2011 – Mary Salotto scored a game-high six goals as the Dallas women’s lacrosse team prevailed 15-5 over College of St. Elizabeth.
April 15, 2006 – A trio of baseball players combined for 12 RBI, as UD won 13-2 over Rust College. Esslinger led the way with a perfect 4-4 and five RBI to go with three runs. 2015 Hall of Famer Tom Fogerty added a 4-5 with four RBI, while Jon Hotchkiss also plated four.
