UD Athletics Weekend Schedule

UD Athletics Weekend Schedule

The University of Dallas athletics department has a busy week with three sports home over the next three days. There will be conference openers for baseball and softball, while men’s and women’s lacrosse each have road matches. Volleyball is away for the first time this year but playing its second nationally ranked opponent. Golf plays in its closest tournament to home this spring, and track and field will be competing for a consecutive weekend, but welcoming additions to the roster.

A reminder that no spectators are permitted at University of Dallas Athletics Events. This is a policy from the SCAC, so all conference schools are sharing the same policies regarding spectators for indoor and outdoor sports.

Also livestats and video will be available at the majority of events this spring. Links for access can be found on the specific sport’s schedule/result page and as an icon next to the event on that certain date.

Below are the schedules of games for the Crusaders.

Men’s Soccer vs. Trinity University (Friday, 1 PM) (Trinity won 1-0)

Dallas is 1-1 at home after falling 2-1 to Texas Lutheran and winning 1-0 in 2 OT versus Schreiner. The Crusaders (1-2-1, 1-2-1 SCAC) are coming off a 2-2 tie at St. Thomas. Chase Reynolds (Southlake, Texas) had three goals on the season to lead the team and had two in the latest draw.

Men’s Lacrosse at Huntingdon College (Friday, 1 PM) (Huntingdon won 19-7)

UD is 0-1 after falling in its season opener at Centenary College, 7-4. Matt Senter scored three goals for a hat trick in his debut. Preston Thompson was another Crusader with a point in his first collegiate match with an assist. Only video will be available for this match.

Track & Field at TSU Relays (Saturday)

Dallas adjusted its spring schedule to pick up the trip to the Houston Meet. Nico Walz and Grace Ebberwein were SCAC Athletes of the Week after strong debuts in the 5,000 Meters.

Men’s & Women’s Golf at Texas Cup (Saturday, Sunday)

The Crusaders will play at Watters Creek in Plano, Texas. Dallas men’s golf took seventh at the Schreiner Spring Shootout a few weeks ago and was third in the first tournament of early February. Dallas has been led by Emilio Montalvo (Mexico City, Mexico) in the first two tournaments, and Robby Evans (Flower Mound, Texas) was the best UD golfer at Schreiner with a 152 through two rounds. The women’s team will have its duo of Emma Christensen (West Haven, Utah) and Claire Kirby (Lubbock, Texas) project to compete individually this weekend, too.

Softball vs. Austin College (Saturday & Sunday 12 PM & 2 PM DH)

After missing a weekend due to weather at an opposing field, the Crusaders play their first home games against SCAC foe Austin College. Three-of-four games will count toward the SCAC play, while the finale will be non-conference. The Crusaders are 0-3 after a sweep at Southwestern University. Game one was a 2-1 walk-off victory. Brenna Kelly (Missouri City, Texas) homered for her first in college in game three. Get the full preview by clicking here.

Women’s Soccer vs. Trinity University (1 PM)

Dallas (2-1, 2-1 SCAC) defeated Centenary College on the road, 1-0, last Saturday thanks to a second half goal by Maddie Rodriguez (San Antonio, Texas). Macey Henderson picked up her second shutout.

Volleyball at No. 2 Trinity University (12 PM & 4 PM)

The Crusaders (1-5, 1-5 SCAC) won their first sets and match in a five-set thriller over St. Thomas last weekend. UD would split the twinbill. Dayjah Whyte (Round Rock, Texas) had 25 combined kills in the pair of games. She had four blocks in the triumph.

Baseball at Schreiner University (Saturday 12 PM DH, Sunday 1 PM)

Dallas (2-7) split a doubleheader against non-conference opponent Hardin-Simmons University on Tuesday. A ninth inning walk-off highlighted the victory. The Crusaders will play their first conference series this weekend on the road. Get the full preview by clicking here.

Women’s Lacrosse at Ottawa University (6 PM)

Dallas (0-2) is led by Emily Pauletti (Dallas, Texas) with five goals. Gabby Dixon (San Diego, Calif.) has been a team leader on ground balls and caused turnovers. This will be the first road game this season for the team.
