2021 SCAC Championships Track & Field UD Preview

SEGUIN, Texas - The University of Dallas men’s and women’s track and field team will compete in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships this weekend. The 2021 SCAC Championships will be the first SCAC meet under head coach Nick Schneigert. This year’s conference Championships will also be the first for everyone on both the men’s and women’s rosters. The meet will be hosted by Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas on both Saturday and Sunday. Seven events will take place Saturday morning and the other 13 events on Sunday.

Both sides will be distance heavy with both participants on the women's side in Gracie Ebberwein and Megan Scott representing as they have all spring. The men's team will have cross country dual sport runners in Jonathon Cantu, Ryan Connor, Luke LaCour, James LaTour, and Nico Walz. Max Crowder should be handling sprints, as will lone returner from last year's COVID-19 shortened spring in Samuel McLard. Logan Bynum will be on the throws with McLard in javelin. Bynum should also compete in shot put. Crowder's 200m time of 23:03 seconds at the East Texas Invite ranks 11th in the SCAC Performance list. 

The Crusaders have a trio of individual SCAC Champions since 2016. Prince Giadolor (100m, 2016), Diana Hassink (Shot Put, 2018), and Kevin McGuirk (400m Hurdles, 2019).
