UD Cross Country Posts 2019 Schedule

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas cross country teams have posted its 2019 schedule. Both the men’s and women’s teams will be led by UD alumni, Matt Barber (’13), who enters his sixth season at the helm. He will have both teams gearing up for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) and United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) in early November. Both squads will participate in the same eight races this fall.

The season opener is the CROOsader Dual Meet at Austin College in Sherman, Texas. The Crusaders and fellow SCAC rival Austin College will race on August 31 in the first race of the campaign.

On Sept. 14, Dallas is at the UT-Dallas Cross Country Invite. It begins a stretch of three consecutive races that are 5,000 Meters (5k). The other race that month is the Muthama-Rogers XC Invite at Bethel College in Newton, KS.

The calendar turns to October with the final 5k of the season at the home meet the University of Dallas Invitational. This season’s date will be on Oct. 5. Last year’s race was cancelled due to inclement weather.

The remaining two competitions on the docket for UD are 6,000 Meters (6k) for the women and 8,000 (8k) for the men starting at the ETBU Home Meet in Marshall, Texas, on Oct. 11. The month and regular season conclude with a 6k at the Bill Libby Invite on Oct. 19. This competition is a familiar one for Dallas, as the team will be at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. These competitions were last visited by the Crusaders in 2016.

On Nov. 2, the Crusaders trek to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where Colorado College will host the SCAC Championship. In 2018, the women’s team captured third place, while the men were sixth.

The following week on Oct. 9 will be a team trip to the USCAA National Championship in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The women’s team placed fourth and the men’s finished sixth at the yearly race.

The NCAA South/Southeast Regional Championship will be on Nov. 16 in Memphis, Tennessee, should any runners qualify for Dallas.
