UD Basketball 2019 SCAC Media Days

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference office will conduct its fifth annual Basketball media days event beginning Monday, November 4.

Both men's and women's basketball teams from the University of Dallas were featured on Monday. Jarred Samples (12th season) sat down with junior guard Michael Wambsganss (Denver, Colo.) to discuss the 2019 season. The duo sat down in 2018 as well with Russell. Coach Samples became the winningest coach that season and guided the Crusaders to their first SCAC Championship appearance. 

First-year head coach Bri Calver sat down with junior Vanessa Diaz (San Antonio, Texas) to talk about the upcoming season. Calver, who arrived from Hendrix College last spring, begins her first head coaching position of her career. She inherits a squad led by two seniors and two letterwinner juniors, but also features four freshmen. Diaz also spoke with Krammer a season ago. Her jersey got displayed this past summer in the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame "Ring of Honor." 

The University of Dallas men's basketball team opens the 2019 campaign at home on November 11 versus Arlington Baptist University. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. The UD women's basketball team tips off its new season on Nov. 12 against LeTourneau University. That tilt begins at 6 p.m.
