UD Basketball Places 10 on 2018-19 SCAC Winter Sports Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced its Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll today for the 2018-19 winter term and 260 student-athletes made the list.

The University of Dallas men's basketball and women's basketball teams had five players tabbed from each program to represent the Crusaders. On the men's side: Logan Fruhwirth, Michael Wambsganss, Dustin Mathis, Ben Norton, and Joshua Nunn. Four of the five mentioned started all 28 games.

On the women's side: Vanessa Diaz, Faith Starnes, Monica Stephens, Faith Weisbruch, and Gracie Williams.

This is the third straight season Fruhwirth has garnered recognition, while Nunn and Norton got selected for the second time in their careers. Weisbruch is the second from her family in the past two years to be selected, as her sister Francesca Weisbruch got named in 2017-18 the year she played.

Since its inception in the fall of 1997, just over 27,000 male and female student-athletes have been recognized for their contributions in the classroom.

The 260 winter honorees are the most for the conference since moving to a separate winter listing prior to the 2015-16 academic year.

To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 for the term and be a regular member of a varsity athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference.
