Hall of Fame Spotlight: Tony Thompson

INDUCTED FEBRUARY 2002

Tony Thompson ran cross country at the University of Dallas beginning in 1985 and finishing in 1988. This was a period of time in which athletics was in a transition.  Tony Thompson gave the cross country program legitimacy by qualifying for the NAIA Championships in 1988 where he ran a school record 28:25 for 8,000 meters at the time. In 1988 he also set a school record for 5 miles with a time of 26:29 at the Ouachita Baptist Invitational. Both of those records still stand today.
