Hall of Fame Spotlight: Donnie Watson

INDUCTED FEBRUARY 2002

Donnie Watson played baseball at the University of Dallas in 1977 and 1978.  The 1978 team won 33 games and won the NAIA District 8 Central Zone Championship.  Those 33 wins were a school record until the 2000 team won 34.  Donnie Watson holds the school record for doubles in a game with 4 against Baptist Christian and for doubles in a season with 22 in 1978.  His 16 strikeouts against Texas College in 1978 is the second best mark in school history.  He stood fifth on the career doubles list at the time of induction (Now 8th).  For his career he had a batting average of .348 and a pitching record of 15 wins and 10 losses.
