Bio

Monica Menchaca completed her third year as the Assistant Athletics Trainer at the University of Dallas, where she worked with the 15 NCAA Division III programs

Menchaca spent her most recent stop at College Station, Texas, as part of CHI St. Joseph Health Sports Medicine from August 2015 to April 2017. She was independently responsible for the medically related needs of the student-athletes participating in Texas A&M Men’s Lacrosse, Lexington High School, and Caldwell High School. In addition to evaluating student injuries and general medical conditions, Menchaca gained experience with designing treatment and rehabilitation in acute, chronic, and post-surgical injuries. She coordinated student-athlete visits with doctors and physicians for injuries.

Specifically for the Aggies’ men’s lacrosse program, Menchaca provided game coverage for games and tournaments, coordinated student-athlete care with physician and physical therapist, communicated with coach on health status, and presented techniques of involving the practice of preventing, managing, treating, and reconditioning of athletic injuries.

Menchaca earned her Master of Athletic Training at University of Arkansas in May 2015. During her two years in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Menchaca served as a Graduate Athletic Training Student. In that span, Menchaca covered softball, women’s swimming and diving, men’s tennis, and women’s soccer.

From August 2008 to May 2013, Menchaca was at University of Missouri and performed athletic training duties through a student internship. Sports that she worked with included: football, gymnastics, softball, and swimming and diving. In the classroom, Menchaca earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences in December 2012. She also had a minor in Psychology.
