Chris Conaty was appointed Athletics Recruiting Coordinator and Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach in July of 2021 after serving as the program’s Graduate Assistant from June 2018 through May of 2020.  

In his brief tenure as the Recruiting Coordinator, Conaty has already left a lasting mark on the department.  On top of his normal duties, he has overseen the transition from Front Rush to ARI Recruiting software and integration with Slate admissions, and has revitalized the social media presence for the Athletics Department by launching social media accounts dedicated to recruiting and highlighting the recruiting process.  

Conaty’s recruiting journey really began while serving as a student ambassador for Texas Christian University Football.  From 2014-2017, he was leading campus tours for prospective students, working directly with the Assistant Director of Football Operations to update their recruiting database, as well as hosting recruits and their families during football games.  

Upon completing his Bachelor’s of Business Administration at TCU, he continued his path toward recruiting as the Graduate Assistant under former Head Coach, now Athletic Director, Jarred Samples, while pursuing his Master’s of Leadership at UD.  He took on all aspects of recruiting, including scouting, direct communication with recruits planning campus visits, as well as promoting the program by managing its social media accounts in his two years with the team.  

Conaty completed his graduate studies in May of 2020.  A native of Sacramento, California, he now resides in Irving.
